Overlayo was developed by The Toolbelt Company, a group of architects, designers and business owners who create tools for the industry based on first-hand knowledge of the problems they are trying to solve.
Who We Are
When we started to create Overlayo, we investigated how augmented reality could improve the design and construction process. Our team partners with professional architecture firms to test all of our products during development, so that we can understand how it is being used in real-world applications. This tool was not developed in a basement, this is a professional tool made for professionals, by professionals.
Overlayo uses passthrough augmented reality to overlay vector lines from CAD drawings and overlays them onto your headset’s passthrough screen. It is scaled and calibrated in 3D space so that your plan is always to scale while you are experiencing it. As you walk the space with the headset on, Overlayo is using the sensors inside the headset to keep the plan tracked in place, so you can walk around without having to setup sensors before use. The headset was developed using the Meta family of headsets, however, our team can calibrate it to use many other standard headsets. (currently this application is not compatible with the Vision Pro)
